After finally finding an acceptable material for egg screening, I found some plastic mesh (recommended)at Hobby Lobby. It's perfect in every way except that it floats.

Any ideas on how to anchor it so it does not come in contact with the eggs?

I tried metal screening and it made my fish sick...

You could always try the lead weights that they offer for sale for tying down plants.

They sell suction cups, with clips attached to hold lettuce for herbivorous fish, That should work for you. Most Marine stores and sites sell them.

They sell small square chicken wire that has a plastic coating.just cut a piece and bend it and it stays in place.

My fish have never had a problem from it.

Paul, that's exactly what I've been looking for but I can't locate it. Where did you get yours???

I'm trying to use something as non-intrusive as possible in that I don't want to mess around too long placing it in. Suction cups seem the way to go with what I have now.

Thanks

I use the plastic cover used to cover gutters on houses. Use zip ties to hold in place.

Zip ties work great at holding and is the greatest invention since duct tape.

Check out the picture Jim Quarles gave me of the screen material on the cones I bought from him. It works very well.

Got it at Home Depot, and I have seen it at Target. If you can't find it let me know and I'll send you some. It's easy to use because you just make 1/2 circle with it and thats it.
