the other thing i notice is camera angle really matters how the fish looks - especially the tangerines - note how the last fish looks sunken at the tail but in real life it doesn't - i'm guessing either lighting or the flash? not sure

Your pics are ok, but your fish are nicer than the pics. Just keep playing and you'll find the right settings. Its not easy to get good pics, but its fun. ;)

Very nice Paul they look great

These young discus are good examples of what small fish can and should look like. I hope the other vendors and dealers that visit this sight see your photos, maybe something will click and they will quit peddling junk.

I'd take some more photos Paul and post them in the beginners section.... "what to buy"

Mike

Looks like your babies are growing up, as babies tend to do (well, provided they get the right care, that is!)... Good job with them! Congrats :)

they do look similar to mine. have you noticed any of them growing faster than the others (tangerine wise) ? mine i have 3 out of the 5 are growing bigger and have more black on the edges of their fins. i'm guessing that those might be males vs. the slightly smaller and less black on the fin edges as females? i know i need to seperate these poor discus soon so that they have more room. unfortunately i'm so busy i don't have time to work on my fish room. maybe i just set up a 55 gallon tank upstairs "temporarily" - my wife would love that - yeah right.

I would have to say they are real close. A couple a tad bit larger. What size tank do you have them in now?

:)

i only have them in a 55 right now. it has 7 snakeskins at about 2 3/4" each on average and then 5 tangerines at about 3 1/4" on average. so 12 fish total. i do feed thema lot and do plenty of w.c. so i don't think they are loosing growth yet but i'm thinking that pretty soon they might.
