I think that's something we'd all like to know........lol Not inbreeding your fish will prevent infertility, but as far as increasing fertility, i'm clueless.

Several things could be wrong if your female lays many eggs, but only a few hatch.

Your water could be too hard and you may have to use a percentage of RO water with your tap water.

Too much current from filter dispersing milt before eggs fertilized.

Eggs spread all over the place making it hard for male to fertilize all eggs.

Young, inexperienced male hasn't learned his job yet.

If female lays a small clutch of eggs and all are fertilized and all hatch, female may need a rest and more live food to get back in good breeding condition.

If I am not wrong, the female gets ready after 4-5 days nothing more. But the male needs time. If you separate the pair with a screen or glass, you "might" have more eggs and more fertilized eggs at the end. HTH. Also there was something you can add into beefheart but I do not remember it now. maybe lecithin but not sure..

Well I don't know if it works for the fish but I used to use wheat germ oil for some of my birds and that did work. Maybe you can put that into your beef heart I don't know for sure if it will help but it can't hurt.
