Hi all,
Its no secret i have an addictive personality, and that I want more and more discus and tanks. My non-discus friends have pretty much written me off as looney for all my fish and tanks, but recently they called in an appointment for me to meet a councilor. seems they thought there was a need to get me help when they saw my daughters humidifier.

Brian,
So far its working well ;) The only problem I have found is the hardness and conductivity creep up in the tank, unless you do heavy water changes :)

Oh and live worms are a no go, unless you shut it off during feeding!

It sure does beat that old goldfish bowl in the kids room!

After all you preach and read, how can you overstock a tank like that! ;D Frank

:-[ I know Frank.. I should practice what I preach :-[ :-[ :-[......

...but I do full changes daily, and the water is very well aerated. Also the round tank gives them the impression of a larger tank. I'd swear they grew 1/2 inches since I put them in there! ;)

My tanks keep my bedroom at a toast 79 degrees while the rest of the house is 72. And that's with the doors open... When I close them it hits somewhere around 82-83. That's my humidifier.

Brew,
Use RO water it will keep that TDS from creeping too much and prevent Calcium build up on the heater element.

I don't see anything wrong with that tank.....Then again I keep discus in a 35 Hex....

I still like that toilet someone posted a while back! What's next? Discus in the car?

Brew: did you turn the humidfier on? I bet they must have hearing lost by now with the ultrasonic sound waves but very comfortable with the constant massage by the the sound wave. I'm pretty sure your fish have no Kidney stones. That's the way to fragmentize the stones in human. Nice inovating treatment. New sicence for fish disease. Only Brew can think of it.LOL

Julz,

That is what I thought, but then I considered that this was Brew we were talking about, and I said, "yea, he would do that!" Even if he just doctored the photo, I bet he thought about it for a little while!

I did seriously consider it as an overflow for my week old fry ;) The only reason i didn't use it was because my daughter likes to feed the fish and thats to close to her!!, god only knows what she'd feed them!

Other than that it has my usual criteria for a discus tank...
-it holds water
-its sitting on furniture
-it was availible

;D

ps...photoshop rules!
