Your favorite fish?

We all probably have one, but I'd be interested in seeing pics of your favorite fish.. might not be your best fish, but just the one you like the most?

also a question for the professional breeders out there, and the hobbyist with the dedicated fish room. Do you have a tank in the house as a show tank? whats in it?

Okay, I'll bite... This is my favorite, not sure why. Maybe it's because he has really nice striation and shows a much redder color than the other fish. I also think his shape is nice. Others may not agree, but I like him. I'll post two different shots.

I need to get the camera out.
My favorite varies from time to time but right now it has to be a female wild curipera, that is driveing a male and me crazy cleaning a flower pot and making dry runs for several days.
My tanks are all in the garage if you can call it a fish room, except one tank here by the computer, a 130 gallon that when I have room my favorite pair get to raise thier family in. Yep you guessed it the female curipera and a red diamond male are here cleaning the flower pot and I keep watching for an egg, so as to unplug the eheim.

I am being frusterated here I was going to post a couple other pictures but it keeps cominig up that file is taken rename it.
I put all my pictures from the camera on a zip disk and it will only let me post one picture, hmm

Hi Dennis,
Just rename the pic, save as dennis1, dennis2 etc. then try it. This site keeps a file list and only allows 1 unique name for each pic.

Liz, I think that is either a Heckel or a Heckel Cross. Sometimes the 5th bar will be lighter than the rest of the body, and sometimes darker. It also has a heckel body pattern beginning to develop near the fins. I agree - I would guess it's a female.

I love all my fishes and I do not have a favourite fish..reason being your favourite fish would always give you problem or die with diffeent mishap..I don't know whether they have a discus curse in the amazon that if they are your favourite they are gonna die faster lol..I have seen that happen many times. ;)

anyway, i'd have to say the wild rsg's are my fav's, can't pick any single fish, i love too many!!!

some of the types i really like are the oriental dreams, cary's lep/rsg crosses, mike wild blue above, some checkerboards. too many to remember yet list!

This is a wild blue, probably Manacapuru, formerly at some bozo's tank-looking pitiful.

This is a large wild green, non-spotted, no location info, it has been suggested it looks like Nanay River (Peru) fish. Yes, it is also a rescue and had HITH, which is now covered over but can still be discerned.
What do you think its gender may be ? I think male.

This is the smallest and seemingly youngest heckel I have. Also a rescue. I think this fish has much potential. It is developing trailing extensions on dorsal (can't be seen in the picture). No location info.

I have gotten where I don't even make a guess on sex, it is hard enough with domestics but even worse with wilds, as many wild females will have long trailing fins as males.
I let one of my proven males tell me the sex of other fish.

Here's a pic of 1 of 6 white butterflies I got from Cary. There's a white female that's probably the nicest but I couldn't get her to "pose" for this post.

This is a male that needs to learn how to do "his thing" so I can get some baby white butterflies ;D

This is today's favorite. Despite his somewhat odd shape, this large heckel (I have been told probably Nhamunda), has enough blue shine, contrasting colors and personality as to be noticed everytime I walk by. It has been with me since July02.
