There is more current info on this board than you will find in the books. It does have some nice pics. If you have questions that can't be answered on this board you prob. will not find it in any book.

Yeah I bought the book and CD from Danny at last years ACA...The CD is much better, The book is nice if you like looking at lots of pics of spotted discus

The book does have a lot of very, very nice photos, but not too much in terms of detailed text. There are a few interesting topics covered briefly - like how Jack Wattley developed the Turquoise and the development of the Blue Diamond. I also enjoyed reading about the "sexing the discus" and "selection and purchase" chapters (which shows a few culls as examples of what NOT to get). There are lots of photos of some really nice looking fish and there are only a handful of ads in the book. I like some both types of books - those books focusing on photos of beautiful fish as well as those books with details on feeding, breeding, background of the strains, wilds, etc...

The VCD (video CD - playable in most PC CD-ROM Drives using Windows Media player or on most DVD players), is excellent (even if you're like me and don't understand Cantonese, there are English subtitles).

No, this is a VCD of Wayne (from Wayne's Discus Centre) Ng. He narrates it and goes over a lot of topics in breedering, rearing, etc... discus. Really nice.

Jeff sent me Waynes book. The pictures are very nice. But as Jeff said in an earlier post that there is tons of information here at Simply to use.

With the CD, Wayne's Cantonese with English subtitles, this is like the movie "Rodan vs. Godzilla " only it is Red Melon vs. Godzilla. I suspect it is Wayne's discus doing the talking. If you don't believe me---watch the lipsyncing on theDiscus!!! Trust me !!! Joe ;D

Also, some of the proceeds benefit Danny's church!!!

Carl Wu donated some of Wayne's VCD's for Simply contest prizes . . . . It covers many aspect of raising discus and is really neat to watch. I had to open one up and watch it to make sure it worked, you know ;)
