Thanks for taking the time to look.

Last night when I came home my female was laying on the floor. I threw her back in and she began breathing again. This morning she is still breathing but curled up and not swimming.

I will say that she has been very jumpy for the last two days. She has been easily scared.

Please give me any advice possible.

Sean.

Hi Sean,
First I would just help with the stress by adding 2 tblsp noniodized salt / 10 gal water.

Keep temp mid 80F

2nd , try to figure out why she has been jumpy.

do you do water changes daily 20 to 50% with "dechlorinated, no chloramine water?

Is the temp mid 80F?

Have you tested ammonia, nitrite?
Are there other fish scaring it?

Is it near a loud noise, high traffic area, lights on and off?

Thanks Arden.

WC are at least 30-50% daily. This hasn't changed in 8 months.

This was a mated pair in the same tank for months. No other fish no environment changes. The male is the only other fish around.

Didn't test water. But expecting to be fine.

That's a long fall for a fish. Hope she isn't injured.

Still up for a run later?

hi sean,
probably you can check the water paras and the water you use for water changes. there should not be a difference in them ...... not even a bit and the temp also should match.

another possibility is that you can check for electrical leakages, like the heaters or the light.

hope this helps.
