Hello I put a little barrel ornament in the tank recently. One of my Discus is a little smaller than the rest and gets picked on quite a lot.It has now taken up residence in the barrel and only comes out to feed. What should I do with the barrel leave it in or take it out.

You can leave it in for awhile. Be sure to pull it and rinse it out every couple of day as I'm sure he's pooping in it too :)

Carol Its actually quite small so it wont be able to fit in it for very long.Any advice as to do when one gets picked on.

Unfortunately there are hitler discus who's sole goal in life is to rule the tank. You can do one of three things:
1. Have lots of discus to diffuse the aggression
2. Get rid of Hitler and hope #2 has a milder temperment
3. provide hiding places

To minimize aggression, 9 or 12 or 80 baby discus all from the same spawn is the way to go.

I am about to pick up another two Discus so hopefully that may help. They will also be smaller than the present ones.
