This is my water parameters. I need to know my water hardness in German dg. I think it's high because PH hard to drop. Ph as well if possible. Thank You.

Hi all,
Flexy, your Alkalinity is about 5 DH and your Hardness(expressed as CaCo3) is about 7 DH. I would think a good 50/50 mix of R/O and tap would give you a nice range for your discus and get your pH to drop naturally upon the nitrogen cycle kicking in, but keeping enough buffer to prevent a pH crash. mg/L (Milligrams per liter) is equal to ppm(parts per million).......17.1 ppm is equal to 1DH(approx)....1ppm is equal to .0584 German Degrees.......thus 17.1 X .0584= .99864 or just about 1 GD......So you would divide the figures in that table by 17.1 to get your degrees(make sure the figures are expressed in mg/L as some of them are expressed in diff measurements, see the footnotes below the tables).
