I have seen the tanchos online before, but they did not have so much read coverage (nor was it as bright). Thanks for the pics. Keep us updated. ;)

Much of the red will turn more orange and spotted. Another one I have is much more dull. That one didn't want his picture taken. I'll try for him later.
Donna :)

Ken Davis (fishfarm) can probably tell you who these fish came from.

Aloha Donna, very impresive discus. I too have some tanchoes. I have three. All are female. I found out after about 4 months that they were. They fooled me by pairing off. Then one spawned one day 5" female ,then I observed the 4.5" do the same 2 days later. The third paired with a brilliant blue male 7" tancho 5 ". If you have any males I would be interestd. I got these from Tim at U S discus and very good quality. More pics. No digi cam yet , borrowed a jamcam but pics were bad.

Thanks!
This is my favorite fish. I'm very pleased with him.

Frank,
I guess you were right when you said I liked red discus. ;D ;) ;D

Francisco,
The fish pictured acts like a male along with one other. I want to see how they grow out and if I don't need both of them I will let you know.

Almost like an American flag. Pale blue stars on the fins and red and white stripe. I'd love to see more pictures close up.

Nice fish Donna, I see getting pick of the litter turned out nice for you. The fish from Tim Timons came from the same Breeder in Penang, we rerun into each other at the Atlanta airport when we get fish. :) Ken

Thanks Arpanlib.
The fish came from Ken Davis at Fishfarm. They are imports. He should be able to say were they came from.

Hi Tony, They are not a fixed strain, they throw: Tanchos, whites, silver whites, and even some snakeskins. Some folks claim they are the same as the red and whites, but they are not, they all have 15 stress bars that show up when they are fry before they get adult color and are orange and white with blue and black around the edge of the fins. Very varied in color with the orange ranging from almost full body to just a few orange dots. Ken
