Today is my son's birthday (12) and for it we are letting him set up a 55 gal marine tank in his bedroom. Are there any sites or forums out there that will be as helpful to him as this one has been to me?
Thanks, Todd

One I know is aquariacentral.com, they have a marine/reef section in their forums.

One of the largest marine sites I know of is http://www.reefcentral.net/ ... Click on 'forums' on the left. I bet you could find everything you need to know just by searching through the board's archives. It's a huge forum.

I recently set up a reef tank. Aquaria central was most helpful. A good book to read is "Natural Reef Aquariums" by John H. Tullock if your son is interested in a reef aquarium. It is not very heavy reading, is not too long, can be a little technical in a couple of places, and is not too expensive. You can also Email me or PM me. I am far from an expert on the subject but I will help you find the answers.
If your son is setting up a marine tank it is not too much different from discus. Filtration is similar, and attention to water quality is necessary.
