I had thrown some vegetable scrap and potatoe peelings to culture mosquito larva, today I saw some bright red worms swiming in the tank some are clinged to the floating vegetable
took out some with strainer disinfected them for 2 hours and feed them to pair, they go mad and ate all in few seconds, so what are they tubifex or bloodworms, if b/w then I think I am the lucky person to get these for free ;D 8) :-*

i would think you could tell the difference by their shape. tubiflex would be long and stringy looking while blood worms are shorter and stouter. not sure if this holds true before they are grown though. good luck

I could be mistaken....but I believe Blood worms (midge larva...not true worms) Hang from the surface of the water in the same manner as misquito larve. Tubifex would be found on the bottom.....they look similar to Black worms only much finer and more thread like.....light brown to reddish brown.
