Can someone tell me briefly what benefit spirulina has?

Thanks!

High level of Beta carotene, that results in enhanced coloration.
High vitamin content.
As a veggie, it contribute several essential aminoacids (not contained in animal foods).

Will this be a substitute for Tetrabits as a source of flake/dry food?
I am also feeding CBW and HBW.

I am not sure if you are referring to pure dry Spirulina (a powder), or to a Spirulina-based flake, or to Spirulina disks (as used for plecos).
The first is not good by itself, but a great ingredient in home-made beefheart recipes. By itself the fish cannot eat it and it will create a mess.
The second is good as one of various foods to feed your discus. You mentioned tetrabits and some live foods.
The third I don't think is good for discus.

Note that the actual content of Spirulina in the second and third types is relatively low, since the bulk of it is other things, such as wheat, etc.
HTH, Francisco.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll probably go with regular Angel/Discus flakes which has some spirulina among other stuff. Then supplement it with CBW or HBW.

Thanks again!
