IMHO hospital tank needs no cycling. No sponge filter neither. Just an airstone and a heater. You will be making 100% change everyday. The application of meds will kill the sponge filter anyway. Why use it?. It is more economical to have a small tank for meds. application and W/C. Just siphone water out from the original tank and use it.
Jimmy.
