tapwater and buffers

hi, this matter is confusing me since last few days (may be a dumb question) if we can get required parameters by adding tapwater to R/O water then why we need buffers like R/O right etc. to regenerate the ro water, thanks :book:

If you add tap water to your RO water you do NOT need to add RO right.

If you use pure RO water you will need to add RO right (minerals) back to the RO water

thanks carol, then why the manufacturers marketing this kind of stuff , everyone have the tapwater connection to which R/O unit is hooked

Actually there are some people with tap water that is very bad. They would need to use RO right to be safe.
