Beta, those are very wild pictures! A few of them look like the "Nebula" discus (http://www.geocities.com/ac932002)

I don't want this to turn into a heated debate, but can anyone tell me exactly how they make these fish look like this? Roy, Sly? It can't all be natural. They look like koi angelfish.

If they really were born and raised like this I wouldn't mind owning a few, but if they're hormoned or colored up artificially it sort of takes the fun out of it.

picture 1 2 and 5 are actually ghost cross..3 is a yellow white and 4 is a red white.

The 1st and 2nd was created sometimes ago which uses the name calico discus as in multi color or mixed color..u can find those on Malaysia Discus book..they are definitely not new. As for the 5th picture it's a little similar to the nebula..just w/o the gold on the head. The first fish was definitely tweaked..the others look fine..and most have red eyes which is hard to achieve on ghost strain. I wouldn't pay that much for this fish and I think they would take a long time for people to accept them. This is JMO.

I have seen similar fish to pictures 4 and 5 at Wattley's, except they had white eyes not red. They were mixed in with the red white crosses. The fish I saw were only about 2 inches and sold before they became adults. So I don't know what they ended up looking like.

I have some of the crosses that yogi is referring to.

I believe that they are crosses between the snowflakes and marlboro reds to get the red/white and a blue diamond and snowflake to get the blue/white. The ones I have also have the white eyes which Im guessing is a pretty dominant trait from the snowflakes.

If you crossed these red/white or blue/whites back to the non-snowflake parent you might end up with more red/blue and red eyes. Ill let everyone know in about 8 months if I remember :)

Looking at the pics you can see the tell tale eye bar showing up in a few of them. So these guys probably have a ghost parent in the recent history. I have some ghosts as well, though "blue ghosts" so Ill see how they turn out in 8 months as well.

Okay,
So I'm old fashioned and boring.... but I do not like those at all...at all.

I think they are definetly different, and unique, but they are not for me.

take care,
