Wow...nice fishes. Very handsome and regal.
I especially like your Angel Diamond for its fabulous colour.
Well, I might be wrong since I am relatively new to Discus.
They all look great. The only question I would have is that I am under the impression that all Rose Reds are a derivation of SS or something like that and therefore have 14-17 bars. I know mine from GLD does. Is this true?

Hi Brad:
Rose red isn't a snakeskin derivitive to my knowledge. I believe its from the Alenquer/ San Merah types
zzbruin your lfs has fish like that??? where u in california?? those are some nice fish :)
Well, whatever be its derivation, do they not usually have more bars than the traditional nine?
You are correct Carol. ;)

Bars are good.....i like Bars.
The rose Red has nine bars. I also have one from GLD. I'll get a pic if I can. Not much of a photographer thats for sure.
Here he is. Not a great shot of him and he is still really young but you get the idea.

so a san merah is like the rose red but cleaner, i mean w/o the bars and gets much redder?? yeah..dm...yours has more stripes and much finer ones at that...
Here's my Rose Red from GLD. Any idea why it has 14 bars?

maybe someone w/ expertise on san merah or rose reds can help...one thing in common is the brown base color. but nice fish nonetheless.

Anyone know why mine has more than 9 bars? Is there an outcross somewhere in its genetic pool?
