Ronca,
I used to have a ton of pics of my backyard, can't find them. Not sure what I did with them. I'll take a few soon. Have one of the swamp/ravine accross the street from this winter, water level was a bit low. You can see all of the stag trees in the center of it. yuck.

Here's a few of the spring flowers & herbs.

(Note: The red roof is coming off..replaced by a steeper pitch with black architectural shingles..the dormer is going as well as are the porch windows & door (don't worry the new windows will look great and make the porch useable for more of the year.) and the yellow trim is history)

Herb garden around one of my Norwegian Maples. Made that natural stone sidewalk myself two years ago. Bit of a pain to shovel, but looks nice.

We had about 14 teenagers and 9 adults. Less than planned, but that was fine, as it was a little crowded with those numbers.

Well...now that I stumbled across this...

Here you go Karina....not to usurp your wedding pic trend..:)

This is the only recent pic I have. The beauty on the left is my wife, Sharon, whom I'm still trying to get to even feed her fish.

Beth, you're a good Southern woman, would you mind making a visit to Charlotte to convince her to get her hands wet? :)

Here's one of me doing what I used to do best. The little peanut on my lap was having a lot of family trouble and adopted me during my tenure there.

And finally, here is the a pic around 12,000 ft up, looking down on the lakes that we hiked by. The turquoise water of the lakes are due to the glacier runoff.

It felt like we were on top of the world....took us 14 hours to get up and back. It was almost 20 miles of hiking. 2 miles of elevation gain and lost. What a great way to spend labor day weekend, huh? ;D

Hello My Friends,
I don't think I properly introduced myself. My name is Daniel. I live down south in the suburb of Houston, Texas. I occasional write something in but most of the time just read and learn. I been a discus hobbist since "93. I wish they had this type of forum when I first started. It would've save a lot of heart aches.
Thank you all for being so kind and helpful. I've already met some members in person and hope one day I will have the privilege to meeting you all. Again Thank you very much.
Here's a pic of me with my bully that just had one pup. So if anyone is interested in a Bull Terrier, let me know.

Hmmm . did not know discus liked pizza - probely the seafood special, hahahhaha.

Smokey

susankay1
10-29-2003, 09:09 PM
Yes, Smokey, he actually does do water changes. We sort of have a routine every morning. He gets up, turns on all the lights, feeds everyone beefheart. We get our shower and start scooping poop. While I scoop, he fills test tubes and gets started testing water. then we go back and feed flakes. Once all the tests come in and we decide who needs bigger water changes, I get started draining tanks and he comes behind me and refills tanks. About 5pm, we scoop poop one more time and do a good feed. Then about 9pm we do a light feed and lights are out by 10 pm for the fish. He is very helpful, as a matter of fact, it's his fault I like these fish. He had them in the early 70s. As for discus and pizza, they all rush to the front of the tank for a sausage and mushroom, but no crust for them. The cats get the pizza sauce and crust...so, no waste. LOL

Smokey
10-30-2003, 01:18 AM
Susan;
if I understand you post's - The fellow - in the forefround - gets up, turns on the lights, feeds the fish, returns starts a warm shower - invites you - !!!! then in your bath towels, if I understand the post - you both go out - hand in hand - to scoop poop !!!! lol. Hahahahahahaha.

Sorry , slap me silly. I could not resist!.. hahahahhahaa

Sorry I am still laughing lollolololollol.hahahahhahaha
all in good humour.hahahaha

Ohhh sorry , I am still chuckling.... A true marriage.. . ok.

As for the kitty cats - spoiled rotten.

Smokey

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Yes, I am very blessed to have a husband that works and plays with me. We have made it a point for the past 26 years to do that and it has worked pretty well. As for the shop cat, Darcy, she will probably get a kick out of watching the cat and the fish watching each other.

Last name is Reisdorf. I know, it may be strange for some people that a family name from German decent is naming their first born a french name. ;D LOL! And we dont even have any french blood lines either in the family....yet! We just like the name, its not common and it means 'young warrior' (babynames.com), perfect for my son!

So Marcel *___* Reisdorf? ;)
