Hello there.

For those of you who live in Sydney, Australia, here is a typical analysis of the water. (prospect res.)

ph=7.5-7.8
conductivity (ms/m)=19-21
total hardness (CaCo3 mg/L) = 49-56 (about 3 or4 dH)
temp= 11-27 celcius.
Chlorine = 0.2- 1.4 mg/L

We are blessed with a stable pH and relatively soft water. What I don't understand is how the pH is quite high in relationship to the hardness. Maybe a water expert can shed some light on this

Hi,
The ph is dependant upon the carbonate hardness or KH. It does not depend on the GH or general hardness (calcium and magnesium main minerals)
So you don't have as much acidity, but more alkalinity.
