I have a male discus whose eyes are both inflamed and our bulging out of the sockets. Everything else looks normal, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to treat this?

Thanks,

You are going to need an antibiotic. I've heard kanacyn may work.

I agree with Carol.
it is most likely internal bacteria. Use Kanacyn. Double dose the first dose, then follow package instructions for 2 wks. No wc for first 5 days (monitor ammonia, if it goes up , you do have to do a wc)
temp 82F (lower temp slow bacteria growth)

sounds like what is known as Popeye......
antibiotics are the prescription for that.....I have used Maracyn Two for finrot and it has worked well. It says that it will also help popeye, though I have never seen or used it for that....Tetracycline is also another antibiotic available for fish that can help............good luck

Kanamycin would be my first choice. Erythromycin would be my second.

Sometimes this condition is brought on by fluid build-up from internal infection in the nasal cavity, but it could also be a secondary infection caused by poor tank conditions. If the latter is the case, stepping up on water changes and general tank maintenance may be called for.
