alex, nice fish!

keep'em clean - don't breed them indiscriminately! there are to many crosses out there. we as hobbiests need to preserve these beautiful strains!

those fish you call melons look alot like tangerines - they are really nice whatever they are called.

Thanks everyone,

Mench, the fish came from Jeff who said that he imported them from Singapore.

Alex,
I was hoping if it wouldn't be too much trouble for you to tell us a little about the environment you are growing those reds out in. I.E. water temp, Ph, GH, KH, BB only, food, food schedule, tank size, treated for anything, etc. Anything else of interest that you can think of. Sorry if its too much to ask..Just very curious as to what works for some and what might not work for others and why. Appreciate it if you can drop some parameters. Thanks.

By the way, the fish look super. Great job. Thanks for the nice pics.

Alex:

Very nice discus. They all are in good shape and good color. How do you keep those red melons from peppering?

Another lot of wonderfully beautiful fishes.

I have a question, how long will it take for a mellon to attain the bright red coloration?

Jeff
05-19-2003, 12:58 AM
Good job Alex!!

BlueBull a lot of the brighter color depends on color feeding. A little will go a long ways with these guys.

April, those came from a joint order that Danny and I went in on together from Singapore. Don't be mislead by critics I believe some of the best quality and consistency in discus are now coming from Singapore breeders. You will see more of their discus in the near future. :) ;) :)

hi alex, awesome fish you have!...may i know how old are they and what is their size now?

05-19-2003, 03:14 AM
Well,

i've had them for about two months.

Before that i don't know, cause i didn't ask Jeff.

I really enjoy this perticular strain and i think that if you want nice solid red discus this has to be a great choice.

What is really cool, they are very, very clean and they respond very well to color foods.

Can't wait to see them breed.

As far as Singapore discus, it hurts when i see this..........

Those blue diamonds are astonishing.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Great Melons, are those ones w/ white spots a different kind of fish or are they just developing differently? :D

Hi,

the ones with the spots are pigeons.

I keep them together cause they are red.
