how about using straight r/o water in breeders tank?, when fry start eating from sides tap water can be added for hardness and growth of fry, yr commenta pls thanks

I've heard of people doing so, however, with the lack of alkalinity, pH crashes are almost inevitable without large, twice a day water changes. Or so, this was the case when I tried pure DI water for breeding. I couldn't keep the water above 3.8pH.

Straight RO is too unstable, so you'd be stressing your fish constantly. Keep your breeders at 65 - 85 microsiemens and grow outs at 200 - 300 microsiemens.

I am growing fry from previous spawn in 400 uS they are growing very well, all the time they are hungry coming in front for food
