Whats the best way to sterilize a quarantine tank after treatment to ensure that any new inhabitants dont get what the previous inhabitant had? I have a thirty gallon with a penguin bio wheel filter , and a powerhead both of which have sponges on the intake. :)

Hi,
Put the damp sponges in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. Watch out they get hot!
Clean the tank with bleach plus water , then rinse several times or you can clean , then use rubbing alcohol to clean it. (watch out, flammable), then rinse.

I clean the tank and crank up the temp to 93 degrees and add a ton of rock salt for two to three days.
