How big are 6 month old discus?

I'm sure it varies, but what is the general size range for healthy 6 month old discus? Do some strains grow faster?

At 6 months, they are usually at least 4 inches if they are growing well. Some strains like the blue cobalt I have took longer to mature and he really didn't reach full size until after a year. He was the runt of the tank for a year until he outgrew every other fish.

Hi Nick,

Healthy homebred discus can be 4" sl or so at 6 months but most would be slightly smaller i would think.
