Hi,

Currently I have just a standard flor. strip light on my 75 Gallon planted tank.
I was thinking about getting some better lighting. My lights now are two 2' - 20 watt Coralife Nutri-Grow Plant Lamps.

These lamps aren't bad, but I was wondering if something like VHO or Power Compact would be better and where the best place to buy lighting systems would be?

Thanks

www.ahsupply.com is great for PC refit kits. They're 2x96w kit would be perfect for a 75g.

www.hellolights.com is a good source for commercially made lights.

These prices are USD at Home Depot so YMMV.

Lights of America 48" Twin Tube strip light @ $7.99
Phillips F40DX 48" 6700K bulbs @ $5.00
Any Brand warm and cool 48" bulbs @ $3.00

So for Roughly $35 USD you would have 160 watts over your tank. You could grow a pretty good variety of plants at that level.
