Dave,

You CAN take pics of your own discus ;D

What is the mate to the red one you posted? Another wild red or something different?

What's going on with the strain Ron and I wanted SOOOOOOOOOOOO badly last time we were there. We're both still waiting to head out to you again to pick a batch up :D

GARY

PS How's the Diz doing? Does he need a few more treats when we come to visit :D

The fish shown above is the female, the male is quite similar.

here are a couple of Tefe RSG, one very spotted, one more metalic but less spotted.

not so many spots but still a well marked fish, very metalic, very large

Looks like a beautiful pair of fish loaded with babies, and a very nice setup. I like the discus statues and the Philodendrum.
Are you still planning on moving ? Thanks for sharing.

The philo is kind of part of the filtration, I have to remove roots all the time as it grows like crazy.
I am moving upstate to free & perfect water this summer sometime, when my tank/pool capacity will triple, I will be sure to let everyone know. Finally I will be able to have a BBQ & do a little more show & tell.
:)

O,

I am jealous. Dave place is awesome. Even my wife enjoyed her visit there and she could care less about fish.

Dave,

Sorry I have been able to come by. Hopefully after this stupid wedding thing. I can come up. I am now up to 19 tanks. But only 4 are filled.

Its been a while , but I get the machines out of the bag now & then.....cameras are my tools of trade & I seem to have an aversion to taking them into my sanctuary (fishroom) .......actually mostly I just forget, but when I get anon. e-mails suggesting I don;t breed wild fish or have more than one 20 gallon tank :) ??? I get a bit more motivated to bang out a few snapshots of my kids....errr.....fish

Very cool set up Dave ;)
How many proven pairs do you have????
Those reds look sweet ;D

I have 14 tanks in the central with proven pairs but I get bored quickly with some of the results so I tend to juggle them around a lot which always interrupts things. I actually have about 25 pairs but not enough tanks set up to keep them all going at once.
lat year was a bust for the fish reproducing as there were water quality issues in NY due to drought ( now we have the opposite, it won;t stop raining)
I have been stockpiling ready for my move to a new house this Summer, where I will be tripling my capacity & getting a bit more serious with the breeders actual production. At that time I will invite anyone who is iinterested to check it out...actually you are welcome here in SoHo anytime but it is a bit cramped & dingy in the ( semi-industrial) basement here and I am not so proud of it, tho the commute is easy.....
All of my tanks, except the breeder ones, are overcrowded by100% or more .....meaning lots of w/cs for me each day!...still, its cheaper therapy than a New York shrink!
