Hi...just wondering if anyone else does this...
My Discus fry were not taking to the w/c's very well....even with aged water....and were not growing well-in fact, I was losing many fry.
One day on a whim.....I decided to siphon their tank and then I siphoned some water from the large Discus tank and just poured that in the fry tank to replace the water.
They seemed ok....so I kept doing that with every w/c.
Now the fry have doubled in size and are more vivacious and healthier.
I just thought I would pass this on. It seems much less stressful on the fish to add fresh water to the larger tanks.
I did it with my angelfish next......and worked like a charm.
Same situation.....they became much more active and healthier. It is easier to maintain the Ph in the larger tanks. I did away with the aged water ( I don't need it now). And just add the dechlorinated water directly to the big tanks.
Needless to say....of course the larger tanks must have very healthy fish in them.
Any comments on this technique? Has anyone tried this?
