Shamsoo,
I don't know what resins are going for over there, but even at wholesale here, DI resins are more expensive per gallon than RO. You also have to recharge them frequently when using them with tapwater.

thanks Randal, normally r/o membarane is good for water tds less than 200, I dont have any info on membarane which works good on tds 400 and up, thats why I am asking about de-ioniser ???

i have tried the D.I. on water that was too hard. tossed that element quick!! my current R.O. (dow filmtec) can take 450ppm and make 17ppm from it. for the breeding tank, i run the R.O. 17ppm thru the D.I. and produce 0-1ppm. and reconstitute with R.O. Right. and hang around 60/70.
short story is IME, is that D.I. is for polishing, not filtering.

Shamsoo,
I don't know what brand membrane you are using that only works at 200 TDS and under, but the ones I use (dow Filmtec) in my RO units work just fine over 200 TDS. I have a customer that's running his in water that is 1500 PPM and it produces water at 60 PPM.
