Hi all,
well, I got lucky here... The was this pairs first try..so far so good. But I m a little concerned with the male wild green. Hes really getting eaten up. The fry seem to prefer him to the MR. small spawn ...~80 fry , but they are doing real well....

Nice Al, those fry look great. Just about ready to accept bbs by the look of them. I'd get them on it asap and you can take the fry early if they start to really damage your male. Well done 8)

I love the close ups too! I see lots of color on them. What percentage will look WG?

Hi Carol,
My guess is not many. Most I think will be like the mother, but I think there will be smaller percentage of fry that have characteristics of both. I make this guess from a current set of growout I have from the same wild green male crossed with a checkerboard pB.

Al, excellent pictures and beautiful sights !!
I too would try to get the male out asap. He is worth keeping in good shape. Cheers, Francisco.

Hi all,

just an update ..The fry are still doing fine. I had to pull the male today though. He was too protective of the young! I guess he hadn't learned yet that he couldn't mouth brood large fry! After sucking a few up and spitting them out, they looked like a mack truck hit them.

It was his first time raising fry so I don't blame him. But it was getting so I couldn't approach the tank.

The fry are now being raise by mom, and doing very well. dad is not a happy camper right now! :)
