O'Shea's big adventure

Hi all,
On Animal Planet channel right now is this show. He is in the Amazon region, searching for Bushmasters and was previously in the jungle, hunting for Matamata turtles. He showed a bunch of Electric Eels cruisin around some black water. Good stuff, wish I was there with him.

when i watched the last season of "survivor, the amazon" i made absolutely sure none of the fish they were catching and eating were discus!!!! ;)

I would imagine that discus are not very good eating. not alot of meat. sort of like flounders or grey sole.

Hmmmm maybe next time one of my larger discus passes on I will fry one up.

Discus are a very sought after food fish by many of the local Indians along the river and streams. A big adult fish is prize for the lucky fisherman who catches one. They think were crazy for keeping them as pets.
