Woot, :) im so happy the tank is up and running just have to cycle it now.

As a little side note: Most planted aquariums don't ever cycle as the plants will use up the Ammonia faster than anything else in the aquarium (beside algae). I *HIGHLY* recommend going to your LFS and buying a ton of fast growing stemplants; Rotala indica, Ludwigia, Hygrophila polysperma, Hygrophila difformis and the like. Covering 60% of your tank area with these plants will help it get established and avoid the worst of the algae to come.

I agree! Once you get the plants and are doubtful about your tank cycling, throw some ammonia in and watch what happens.

Another tip! Dont get fish a day after you get your plants. Give the plants some time to adjust and 'settle' in. ;)

Definitely let your plants settle in for a bit first - then they will also be in better shape to outcompete most algeas in your tank. Also, let them settle in a bit before adding fertilizers.
