mini-fridge has arrived!!

Well, I thought it would never happen and Ari would be pregnant for ever, but the day finally arrived... Ari was induced (the doctor ruptured her membranes) and at 14:00 on Friday, 13th of June, Melati Danielle Wheeler arrived! 7 lb 13 oz, and 19.3 inches (that's 3.54kg and 49cm). Melati is Indonesian for Jasmine. We are calling her Ella for short.

Ari worked double time, and was only in labour for 5 and 3/4 hours. The midwife expected around 12 hours, so Ari really kicked into high gear. She progressed so fast there wasn't even any time for an epidural! All she had was a few puffs of gas. I must say I was ready for some gas too (but I didn't get any!!)

Mother and baby are going swimmingly, which is fantastic. We heard so many horror stories during Ari's pregnancy, we were about to call it off at the last minute. Nope, send her back!! LOL

And congratulations to Al and Carrie on the arrival of Ethan J. He looks like a little beaut!! Look at him flexing those biceps in his crib! A bouncing baby boy if I ever saw one...

I worked out that I since my clock is advanced 14.5 hours from the forum time, in absolute time, Ethan was born 2 hours and 40 minutes before Ella. You don't get much closer than that!!

I Can't get over how close Ella and Ethan were to each other " real time.".. Too weird... what are the odds of that! By the way... Ari's labor and delivery was almostly exactly like my wifes labor for our daughter Becky... The mid wife siad she came out like a "fricken Bullet" Sounds like Ella did the same!

I wish you all the happiness in the world. Those little Discus keepers are a lot of work, but Theres nothing like them to make you feel special. The way they look at you, smile and laugh.... The first "daddi and Mommi" ... wow! Enjoy it.. take lots of pictures , and be happy! Lifes going get a lot more "interesting" :)
