What type of sponge do you attach to an Emperor 400 filter?

Could someone please tell me what type of sponge you can use in place of the filter guard on an Emperor 400 filter? Is it a Hydro and if so what size can you use?

A hydro type sponge with a big center hole should slip over the strainer basket. (You will need to plug the bottom hole of the sponge with another piece of sponge)

I buy the large sponges used to wash cars. The kinds that are large on each end and smaller in the middle. Get them at WalMart. I cut off one large end and hollow out a hole which is slightly smaller than the 400 strainer and slightly deeper. Then I just stretch out the hole and slip it up over the strainer. Stays good except when the water level is drained below it.
