Hi Matt

Good question, not really sure of the answer, but i thought a scorpian snakeskin is another name for fineline snakeskin. This fish i bought as a scorpian snakeskin from Penang.

Hi Matt,

Yes many discus change colors when they breed, it is called sooting. 1st stage is a heightening in color of the black ring that extends through the dorsal fin around to the anal fin, and heightening of bar1 and bar5 thru to bar9. During the fry feeding stage quite often only the head area shows normal color while the rest of the body can be very dark. I've attached some pics of the same breed to show you what i mean. I love the colors of discus when they soot up.

This is a young discus in normal colors.

Hi Everyone,

I need your opinion about my fish I will post 3 pics on.

I bought it Last Fall 2002 since to now. The sale person told me that it is called Golden Phonix. I don't think so. It is golden Snakeskin or Golden Scorpian?

I wouldn't call it golden snake..I term those as Golden Pigeon Snake. HTH

I agree with Sly. And a Blue Scorpion is a crosss from a blue fineline SS and a blue diamond female. A certain percentage wikl also be red or blue turks, and regular SS- 9 and 14 line and a few blue diamonds. Frank 8)

Hi Brew, the male is a King Cobra from Mark Tan thru Brian Bender, and the female a Jit Lai Seng Blue Diamond thru Tim Thimios. ;D Frank
P.S.- You will get better results with a male SS, and female BD.
