Hi all
first time breeding Discus. Confirmed pair but since I moved them to a breeding tank earlier, they no longer do the sex dance or concentrate on a spot in the tank. Just swim here and there.
how long and what should I do for encourage them to get horny again?

Hi
You put them in their own tank, that is good, a 29 gal is good choice.
Drop the temp to 82. Put a cone in the tank, dim lights.
They may stand off each other for up to a month after the move.
Or show dirty movies ;D Joking.
Check with Carrol thats her topic.

It may take several weeks for them to get settled back in and breeding

try keeping the same water paremeters for a few weeks then hit them with a large change of something different. cooler water, ro water, or if you use ro mix now then hit them with a tap change. should have them going within a month. if not just be patient they will in time.

Hi
so a month is the time frame I should be looking at huh?
maybe should try dim the lights, add some whisky into the water, and show some erotic movies in front of the tank..... :P

I've found that playing some Barry White and burning candles helps too! :P
