Hi Mphong,

Your LSS is absolutely beautiful! Planning to get a few LSS soon from penang breeders.
At wat size does LSS starts to show its spots? I was at singapore last week, and drop by at D Aquarium at Clementi. Saw a few Leopard Snakeskin they got from Wayne Discus, i.e Spotted Eruption and Shooting Star. Nice shape, small eyes...everything looks fine. But not spots. These juveniles are 2.5 inches. They have a few adult LSS as samples. FANTASTIC!!!!

Would appreciate if anyone can give me a feedback on this.

nicholas

Am I oversimplifying to say that the Leopard Snake pictured is an absolutely wonderful example of years of tireless selective breeding of the finest of Blue Discus (for a Wonderful Red Turq), Green Discus (for a wonder Red Spotted Green) and selecting offspring with the Snake Skin gene?

Is that the heritage of such a fish? I'm just trying to better understand some of these beautiful reds, particularly those that are not Pigeon Blood.

These fish are just stunning!

Hi ODwyerPW,

I would love to let you know about the genetic build up but i am not very sure about it there by would not want to misled :-*

But there is one thing for sure two pieces of the fishes have RSG genes.

Cheers

Hi Nicholas with what i know pattern will start developing at an average size of around 3 1/2 inches and some develop much later. Hope that helps (and not too late in coming back to you on the reply ;) )
BTW I don't think D Aquarium is selling the adult LSS.
