Discus I got from Cary

Ok Cary asked about the discus that I bought from him, I am thinking 2 years ago. :o Now I started out all wrong with baby discus. Gravel, plants the whole works PH crashing. One problem after another. Only because I knew I could do the planted discus tank :) I think they are great, but I put them through alot!

Beautiful discus. Thanks for sharing.
I saw the discus (last pic) at LFS. But i could not remember the name.
I only remember the price as i kept thinking on buying them or not. ;)
It is not called as Brazilen Blue at the LFS.

I will let you know if i recall the name. I will also ask the shop owner for the name. Hope that he still remembers it.

If i am not mistaken, it is called royal blue at the LFS.
I just found out on the web that royal blue is from brazil ... So it's Brazilen Blue then.

Hmmm. but the discus seems to be different with the pics in the links.
Maybe he is still young and takes sometime to get colorful (like snake skin)

It is a nice discus. It is sort of like wild heckel.

I regret for not buying it. I could not make my decision as the price is too cheap (A$55 for 3-3.5 inch before 15% discount). The price made me worrying about whether it is worth to get them or not. Or save for heckel discus.

It is a nice discus. I would get it if i have space in my tanks.

I have 5 tanks already .... I will get it more after uni (if i can get a job) :)

I will still check the name with the LFS.

I got mine for 30.00 for 3-3.5 inches . I bought 2 they both looked the same when I first got them. Now one has more of a red cast to it and the other has brown to green cast to it. I have 7 tanks largest 125 smallest 30.

You've done an excellent job with them. They look very healthy. I love the solid blue and orange color combination.

Two years is a long time in a planted/gravel tank. Your pictures prove it can be done.

It can be done, but I strongly recomend Babies BB, adults only gravel /planted tank. It prove to be very frustrating with babies now I go for the KISS method with babies :D
