Thanks for loading the pictures. Many of us have been very patiently waiting for them. Looks like some excellent specimens swimming in Cinci this weekend. Did you take anything special home with you??

Maybe its the lighting or my imagination , but the water in some of those tanks looks kinda cloudy . ??? Awesome fish and pics though ! ;D

The photo's are very good. The second discus is just amazing, can anyone tell what that discus is. :o
I imagine the cloudiness is from not having any cycled fitlers or if I'm wrong how do they bring those sponge filters over long trips and keep them cycled? When I moved, I lost all my bacteria and had to start from scratch. Nice fish. Is it true the ACA meeting will be in Denver next year?

Yeah thats what I was thinking myself Wolf . Right now though , I think I had better go home and check my tanks . That leopard in the 13th pic sure looks like mine ! ;D Maybe they are twins !
Beautiful discus. Thanks for your work and contribution. Can you post the name of the owner of those fish so that a newbie Angel fish hobbyist can get some of those winners and start my discus collection in the right foot.

The water was cloudy in some of the tanks at the time. They cleared it up though. I don't know what was causing it, but it looked pretty nasty.

use a bit of KMnO4 and neutralize with H2O2. water willl be crystal clear before judging. ;)
Thanks for posting the pics Jeff, great job considering the lighting and reflections you had to contend with.
Congrats to Cary for the discus class, that rt sure is one awesome looking discus ;)

Just got back form the ACA !!!!!!!! I am mad at myself for not taking much pics for my first ACA :( . But I had a great time :) I visited the discus room with Hans, Cary (Congrats man), Danny, and Joe. Impressive discus, and creative up there lol. Came home with alot of fish. I am pretty sure you will have pictures from the guys later on. :)

WE MADE BACK FROM THE SHOW AND HAD A GREAT TIME. I GOT TO SEE A LOT OF BEAUTIFUL DISCUS AND MEET A LOT OF THE PEOPLE WHO POST AND NOW I HAVE A FACE TO GO WITH THE NAME. I WANTED TO EXTEND A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE PEOPLE WHO OWN AND RUN CINCINNATI DISCUS. THEY WERE VERY KIND AND EXTENDED A SPECIAL HOME TOWN HOSPITALITY. THEY WERE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND I GOT AN AFTER HOURS TOUR OF THEIR FACILITY. THE TANKS WERE IMMACULATE AND THEY HAD LARGE VARIETY OF DISCUS TO CHOOSE FROM. IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA IT IS A MUST SEE . HERE IS ANOTHER PICTURE OF ONE OF THE FISH IN THE SHOW. TONY

Yep,I good time was had by all this Yr.Bruce,sorry we didn't get to meet you up in Joes room.Cary did VERY well with his discus and Julz(one of the Discus Chicks) got second.There were around 56 discus entered in the show,the largest amt of enteries for any cat.and of course all the discus were lumped into one cat......
I will start another thread about the show later,and do some pice when I get my software fixed.

Hi Carol, I took First place in Madagscan Cichlids :) . What a coincidense. The fish that is on my plaque is the same fish I won with lol. :)

There is a very unnattractive stream of drool running down my chin. I could just die to have raised a fish the likes of what I am seeing here! Good God, I better get a hold of myself!
On another note - thanks to everyone who went, took pictures, and reported back to us. There is no doubt that I would not be enjoying this hobby like I am if you guys weren't so terrific.

Steve and Mench! What's going on, guys? It was a pleasure to meet you. Kate and I had a great time. We were only going to visit on Saturday, but Cary talked us into staying the night for the party. We saw some great discus, but the people were 10 times better. Cary, Danny, Willie, Hans, Anand....the list goes on. When we walked into room 436, we didn't know ANYONE in the room. Within 30 minutes, we were drinking beers and chatting with EVERYONE.
All of our fish are doing great. Thanks to Cary, we had to reorganize our tanks when we got home. We didn't want to buy any discus at the show, but Cary made us a deal we couldn't refuse! He definitely deserved to win that show. What a class-act. We are now caring for a GLD stocked 55 gal tank. I'll post pics later.

Hi Nick,glad you and Kate had a good time...It was a pleasure to meet you guys..always nice to see the "younger" crowd get into the hobby.Kate is a real "cutie" and she likes taking care of the fish...a real keeper...LOL
