View Full Version : Small breeders!

As stated in an earlier post I have yellow pidgeons and reds that are laying eggs. These fish are only 3 to 4".
I was sure they were only 5 and 6 mth old but can't be sure.
They don't seem stunted, eye size seems normal for size.
Anyhow I've never experienced fish laying eggs at this size, have other tanks and fish are of normal size.
Question: will these fish continue to grow? Would you keep fish that are breeding at this size?, or am I wasting my time.

Thx Dave

Young breeding fish usually stay smaller- especially females. But I for one prefer a bit smaller breeders. The babies can still grow out full sized. JMO, Frank 8)
