Guys/Girls

I'd be grateful for your help. I have a Discus that has decided to intermittently breath through one gill. I first noticed it 3 days ago, yesterday he was fine and using both of them and today he's back to one.

Is this gill fluke or could it be loads of different things.

I have 15 Discus (plus a sailfin and bristlenose) in a 6x2x2, the setup is only 6 weeks old and I have an Eheim 2217 running it with cycled sponges from an old set up. Temp is 29c, PH 6.5 and 40% water changes every other day.

I'd like to know what it is and how/if it can be treated. He's an imported Super Turq and gorgeous so don't want to lose him. Thanks in advance for the help.

If your other 14 discus are fine and he is the only one I would guess bacteria, but could be parasite. You might want to try formalin (formaldehyde) @ 2 drops per gallon (1ml per 10 gallons)
