Shouldn't Super Red Melons be free of black coloration on the fins?

that look more like marlboro reds.

Is it too expensive for a fish? As you can see, you are selling good stuff to good people

I'm guessing Red Dolls.

The best red melons have no black speckling and no black in the fins.

I know red dolls from thailand have black in the fins.

Jack in Chicago sells 5" red melons for $80. No black speckling.

IMO $80 is a great price for 5" discus. The local LFS is asking $99 for a 2" red doll. Other importers in the area are asking $60+ for 2" red melons.

Am I investing in discus or is this a hobby?????

I do not mean to mislead anyone, and that is why I posted several pictures. If I need to retract the name of the discus, I will certainly do so, e.g. Red Doll or... The pictures speak for themselves.

More importantly, thank you for your comments.

Sincerely, Patrick

Red Doll, red melon! No difference really, and Melons can have some black in fins and on foreheads, it just depends on what you want, and what you want to pay. I see Patrick as very upfront and fair on his pricing. Frank 8)

Ok....so what is the difference between a red melon and Marlboro red?

I am a little confused....which is not to hard. ;D

Not much these days Henry. The Marl is less red, and usually has a white or yellow face. Frank

I agree w/Patrick. The important thing was that he posted pics of the actual fish. What you see is what you get. He could've called them Red Flames, Fire Engine Reds, etc. - all semantics.
