Hi guys how are you doing all .... I am thinking to buy six 5" diffrent strains (same based color) like red dimonds, red scribled, red pigon etc ... to pair them off and get some breeding pairs out of them .... what is best sized tank do you think for such a thing .... at the moment I have two 35gals empty tanks but I think 35 gals are small for this process ... will 50gals tank be good enough to do this.... Many thanks

To keep them it would OK as long as you dont mind increased water changes. For pairing behavior it might not be so good.

When I was pairing fish I would put them six to a 110 or 125. That doesnt mean that heavier loads wont work. Just that I did it that way ;D

I have like 19 discus in a 75 gal tank. they are range from 2"-3" in size. I got 1 AC 500 fliter, with 2 V sponge filter. I feed them cbw, tetra bits, ONF1 and frozen hakari bloodworm. I do 50% w/c everyday, maybe i should increase to 75% huh? what you guys think? oh and it is a bb tank.

Is 50% enough for now? or should i increase the w/c to 75% ????

Hi E:
Red pigeon is totally different from the other turquoise based fish you mentioned.

You can put them in a 55, but watch closely for fighting. A longer tank would be better. As pairs form move them to the 35s to breed and tend fry

Hi TnT:
Smell the water. You want it to smell almost good enough to drink. 75% daily water changes may be the way to go.

What are the dimensions to a 55 gallon tank (in metric if you could otherwise i'll convert it myself)

A 55 gallon is about 48 inches long by 12 inches wide and 21 inches tall
