Aloha Tad and David, thank you for the kind words. The tank in question is a 72g bowfront. I know, way to many discus in the tank. The reason they are all in there is I am currently working on my fish room. I am setting up the breeding room for the discus and angels. There are five breeding pairs in the tank at this point. All are proven breeders. They are getting a room all to themselves. I am also building a stand for my guppy breeders and endlers livebearers in another room. I will have a total of 150 tanks when finished. The third room will have the growout tanks in it along with the other fish that are for sale.

For the sale room there will be six 75g tanks for discus growout, six 55g for angels and about twent five 10g tanks for guppies and endlers. I will be adding some frontosas and German blue rams and whatever fish that I rescue from LFS.

Tad, the heckels were rescues from a lfs they were near death when the owner told me to take them along with someother wilds he had in a large show tank. I was able to save 12 of 17. I kept 5 of the rescues and the others were adopted out.

Again thanks for the kind words.

Ike,
Great plans you have for a fishroom...wow 150 tanks and I thought I was being overwhelmed by my current 10 LOL...As for the overstock...dont worry I have been there myself and they do just fine as long as you do water changes to meet their needs.....For LFS rescues you have put together quite a collection of Wilds...

Congratulations on the new fishroom and best of wishes to your new endeavor,

Regards,
Tad

The Heckels caught my eye right away. You must be proud of your rescue efforts! If not, I'm damn proud of you! I'm no expert, but they seem to have nice size and shape. I have never seen something so nice in a LFS. You must have a tremendous eye for what could be! And where does a girl go to get Diamond Tanchos?

Aloha Oscar and Anna, thank you both also for the kind words. The heckels are on the top of my list for wilds. I aquired them when they were really ill. I could not bear to watch them continue in that state. I asked the owner of the lfs if he would consider letting me bring them back to health and then return them for him to sell. He also had some other wilds that were all in a 20g tank with angels that I asked about and the same offer was made. To my surprise he said I could have them. He also added that if they were healthy again I could keep them and do what I wanted. That was a little over 8 months ago. I kept a few for myself and the others were adopted.

Anna, as for the Diamond Tanchoes they were purchased from Tim at US Discus. This man is a great person to talk to and to deal with. When they arrived they laid eggs the next day. I thought I had a pair but they tricked me. They were both females as the other laid eggs two days later. The third has not shown any signs of pairing.

Thursday I leave for KC hoprfully if everything goes as planned to purchase 10 juvenile Frontosa and 6 adults. I am doing way to much right now but I really am enjoying it all.

Again Mahalo for the kind words.

Take Care of You and Yours, IKE ;D
