How are new strains made? By putting 2 different strains together? And letting them mate and then let the offspring mate together, and keep doing that, inbreeding, won't the fish get weaker and weaker though? Confused? Does this mean the original classic discus fish are stronger, because they are not inbreed do make a new strain and they are the original, or what?

New strains can be made by crossing different color morph and line breeding the progeny for several generations. Out crosses are brought in to avoid genetic weaknesses from inbreeding. Wild discus may be hardier than many domestic strains.
