Dosage for furan-2?

Do you guys use recommended dosage of 2 tap per 10.
What length of time?
I'm treating a real bad case of pec fin rot that's real close to the body. Had some luck with heavy dosages of salt. Thought I would try Furan-2

Hi David,
You can try Furan-2. The double dose you refer to is for the specific cases of pseudomonas from the ACA. Most of the time 1 capsule /per 10 gal is fine with furan-2.

The probelm with fin rot is its caused by many bacteria and you can never tell which is the culprit. my suggestion... net the fish in question, take a scissors(soak in rubbing alcohol 10 mins.) and trim the fin below the rot. return to tank. add salt at 1 tablespoon/ 1 gal for 4 days.furan 2 may be added just incase.

If trimming is not an option I would try furanase by aquarium pharmaceuticals.

Can't trim Al it's too close to where fin conects. Not on the ends. I have had some success with salt at 2 tbspn per gal.
Not quite gone. I'll try furanase.
