I am trying to find a topic I'm pretty sure was on this forum. It related to heckle crosses. I recall there was a link on the post to an asian site that had a lot of pictures of the crosses and some information at how the different crosses were achieved. IE what was crossed to what to get the resulting fish.

Anyone who recalls seeing this and might know where I can see it please let me know.

Thanks.

Daniel

PS. I have exhausted all search tricks I can think of!

Ok Al.

At least I'm on the right track. I thought maybe I dreamed it or something after searching for so long. I'll keep looking too.

Hi Daniel, Hi Al,

Hope this will be the good news for you both ;)
http://www.tecnet.or.jp/~ikeda/page3-breed.html

Are heckels hard to keep ?
Do they need special water parameters (ph, temp, etc) ?
How to see whether the heckels is a pure heckels, not crossed ?

Sorry for these questions, just thinking of getting them one day .... ;D

Regards,
Ronny

Heckels are as easy to keep as any discus, the hard part is breeding them. Something I have yet to do. I have heckel crosses that breed, but not pure wild fish yet. Dennis has bred heckels, maybe he will chime in on a little info. Everything I have heard, they need very soft, acidic water, need to be very mature (2 years of age plus) and very well fed. Thanks for the link. Ken

Ronny.

That is a good link that has similar information. Thanks!
However, it is not the link I had in mind.

The search continues....
