Hi all,

I am new to this forum as of today.

I am thinking of getting into Discus and I have a question:

I know all the reasons why to go bare bottom butt is it better to paint it or not to paint it?

Will reflections scare the fishes?

Thanks

You can paint it or you can place a cloth, rug, cardboard, etc. under the tank.

I think painting the bottom would be fine, LOL i never thought of covering the bottoms, oops, LOl no i only have a 20 gallon that has baby paradise fish in it, but when i use that as a hospital tnak, i better do soemthing to the bottom, so i don't scare the fish!! I don't know if the reflection scares the fish or not, but i think they see reflection from pretty much all sides of the tank don't they? or is it clear to them? Idk i'm so confused ???

Tip: Be sure to use a flat paint and not a gloss paint. The reflection from the lights is terrible with gloss paint. ;)
