So does anybody know of any local breeders around springfield, IL within 2 hour drive?

Check with your local Aquarium Club. You might get some leads through them.

post in the general forum, we have lots of members in the chicago area, including one guy that runs a discus store... he buys them from some of the top breeders and distributes quality.

You might try Mike Misuraco in St. Charles Missouri he is not that far a drive for you . Im in a town called Bethalto,Illinois about 45mins from Mike. He has some nice fry avaiable right noe i think give him a call at 636-926-3535 or his e-mail is discusbreeder@msn.com. HTH you out
