use a credit card or ID, scrape the bottom until you get a line of debri. then take a turkey baster, and suck up the line o' crap. squirt the sucked up water into a small white bucket, so you can check for any fry before you throw the water out. just an idea, works for me.

I do like mike also, or I'll use a really small python and I clamp the tube so the Flow is minimal.

change the water VERY CAREFULLY. lol, thats all I do. Actually what i do is before i start to clean, i take the hose and push the babies to one side of the tank, then when your done, take out the hose and push the babies to the other side and repeat until clean. just be sure your not siphoning when your pushing the babies around. instead of a credit card i just use the same sponge that i wipe down the walls with. then like the others i syphon out the line of dirt.

i use a peice of airline and hard tubing for a siphon hose, check before dumping.

I don't clean any glasses from all my fry or adult tanks. I hire a cleaning crew to the job. Bristlenose Cleaning Services. Just siphon the debris out with a cage attachment on my regular siphon hose once a day.
