I've seen this in the past with both angelfish and discus, but it didn't register with me until last night when I was looking at some adult fish. I have several adults that were moderate sized when I pulled them out of the community tank they were growing out and kept in (with other growouts ...). I paired them in put them in there own 29 gallon tank. And they have definately grown ... one 15 month old "female" almost grew half again "her" size and the fins grew out ... turns out she is a he!
I've seen significant growth in my angelfish when I separate them, and even in 10 gallon tanks. Fins grow fuller and longer, Fish get bulkier ...
Thoughts? Comments?
